This summer:
I will read some of the Bible.
I will take up painting again.
I will not write poetry, except in extenuating circumstances.
I will read histories.
I will study economics.
I will eat ridiculously cheap artistic sushi from the Wasabi Bay lunch menu.
I will entertain my puppy.
I will play piano. Even if it means Hanon.
I will earn money to travel to Europe.
I will salvage my other novel.
I will sleep in my own room. I will sit in the sun and grass and read. I will water the garden in the evenings. I will go running and swimming. I will dye my hair green or blue. I will buy clothes from thrift stores, so as not to contradict my having a job.
In the next episode of Jessa Considers the Future, she will make a list of books to read. House of Leaves, the original Dragonlance trilogies, and the Once and Future King are already there, as well as several "Good for You" books that she can't remember at the moment, which may be an ominous indication of the destiny of these good intentions.
