Microsoft OneNote is, for my purposes, far superior to Word.  You can stick pictures and notes in the margins, you can make research links, you can make dozens of tabs to different but related pieces that you are working on, and best of all, it does not correct grammar at you, only spelling.  I like finding pictures to dwell on while I write.  I like making notes.  Word does not let you make notes, not easily.  The margins in Word are so stiff and narrow.  And OneNote displays all your text continuously, no page breaks, no page numbers.  My only grief is that there is no wordcount function, but que sera sera.  That's what copy and paste is for.

Oh.  And?  You don't need to remember to hit save.

It's a beautiful thing.

You can just set up Word so that there are no visible page breaks, and turn the grammar check off. And Word has the "Read" function! Which is far superior to everything, and enables slick note-leaving technology.

Word 2003 has the Read function. I am suffering from a bad case of Office XP, diagnosable through my acute Clippy-hate.

Do you ever use OneNote? You should have gotten a free copy of it at orientation last year.

I've used it occasionally, but its on my laptop right now, and that is the vile hands of some despicable technician.

I actually brought home all my Old Testament notes hoping to copy them all onto OneNote so I could keep and have easy access to them. Maybe my history notes, too.
