Bozarth

College students can't really appreciate the best parts of Spokane, which are all located in close proximity to nature.  College students don't get along with nature.  They don't live in a natural world.  College is a dimension of well-groomed quads and sidewalks, square dorms and parks, hedges that mysteriously trim themselves, and a surrounding ocean of commercial services.  If you want nature, you need a car.  Most college students don't have cars.

Bonnie, Sarah, and I scrambled down the side of the hill on which Bozarth is set.  It was a little precarious, super-steep, and prickly.  It was worth it, though.  We saw streams and waterfalls and clear pools, which are all things I like.  We found a path that went out into the wetlands, and we followed it.  We came within twenty feet of a bald eagle, whom we named "Tim,"  for our honors advisor, who is also bald.  There were robins and swallows and tiny birds who were a very swift and bright blue.  We sat on a wide bridge that spanned the strange deep stream that twisted across the otherwise flat grassy wetlands.  On the other side, we climbed up rocks and found a camp.  We explored a mysteriously rectangular fenced area.  It was satisfying.  Then we clambered back up the hill and walked back.

I'm ready to do homework, but EBSCO won't let me access the research database, and I don't understand how to do the economics homework.  My religion reflection is my last hope, before the weekend becomes shaky and rushed.  I wish it were sunnier.
